As speculations continue over Julen Lopetegui’s job at the Bernabeu, Besiktas president Fikret Orman has revealed that the club will not block assistant coach Guti’s move to Real Madrid if they make any move for him.

According to AS’ Ozgur Sancar, Guti has been named as one of the possible replacements for the embattled Lopetegui.

Although he’s supposed to spend the whole season with Besiktas, the club have stated that they won’t block an early departure for the Spaniard.

“No one has contacted us about Guti so far. We haven’t heard anything about it, but if we receive a request from Real Madrid, we’ll be only too happy to help.

“If Guti returns to Madrid, it would make us feel very proud. He deserves that job, we were keen for him to take the coaching post here last summer,” Orman said.

Guti who experienced success at various levels with Madrid joined Besiktas on a temporary basis in the summer to garner more managerial experience.

He currently works under Senol Gunes and has played his part in moving Besiktas just four points behind the first placed team in the Turkish Super Lig.

Guti established himself as a legend at the Bernabeu in his playing days before completing the rest of his career in Turkey. He had his best footballing days in a Madrid shirt.

Meanwhile, Italian manager Antonio Conte has also been sounded out for a possible move to the Bernabeu with Sky sources claiming that he has met with representatives from Real Madrid with regards to his availability.

Antonio Conte appears to be the ideal candidate because of his antecedents and managerial experience. However, Guti also has a decent chance as Real Madrid showed they can gamble when they appointed Zidane.

It remains to be seen what becomes of Lopetegui after the El Clasico as well as what transpires at the managerial helm at the Bernabeu in coming days and weeks.
