Now or never for Sevilla in the chase for Mayoral

Borja Mayoral recently emerged as a transfer target for Sevilla, and with barely 40 hours to go before the window shuts, it remains to be seen if the club will make a move for the Real Madrid striker.

Sevilla are on the verge of completing some major deals but club boss Pablo Machin has insisted on an additional striker upfront as Wissam Ben-Yedder has been highly speculated to leave the Andalusian club.

The manager admitted that he likes Borja Mayoral, and this is coming after Real Madrid stole Mariano Diaz from under their noses.

Machin believes that Mayoral who is down the pecking order at the Bernabeu will be the perfect alternative in attack. He has reportedly expressed interest in the striker all summer.

With the arrival of Mariano Diaz at the Bernabeu, Real Madrid might be willing to discuss on a departure for Borja Mayoral.

However, it is believed that Sevilla president Jose Castro sees the move as a knee-jerk reaction to the club missing out on Mariano Diaz.

Meanwhile, Borja Mayoral seems to be interested in the move as it would ensure he gets more playing time. He’d also relish playing a role in Pablo Machin’s new challenge at Sevilla.

Mayoral who is reported to have attracted interest from other top-flight clubs appears to be thrilled by a possible move to Sevilla, thus making them favorites for his signature.

The onus now lies on Sevilla as a move for Mayoral is solely dependent on them making an offer.

The likes of Caparros and Machin are expectant of a green light to proceed with a move for Mayoral to boost their attack before the window shuts.
