Copa Del Rey – Madrid face Melilla in Solari’s first game
Santiago Solari will take charge of his first game as interim Madrid boss when Madrid play in the Copa Del Rey on Wednesday evening against Segunda Division B side Melilla.
This will be the first leg of their Cope Del Rey round of 32 encounter as speculation over Julen Lopetegui’s long-term successor rages on.
It can be recalled that the Argentine and former Real Madrid player was appointed on Monday night after Lopetegui was relieved of his duties as Real Madrid boss.
Meanwhile, the likes of Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino, Belgium head coach Roberto Martinez and Manchester United’s Jose Mourinho have been linked with moves to the Bernabeu.

Regardless, tonight, all eyes will be on Solari in his first Madrid game against Melilla which takes place in the North coast of Africa, Morocco precisely.
This might not be a high profile game but Madrid’s current state demands that the side must be fully focused to avoid another crazy upset, as that is what it would be if there is a shocker tonight.
Meanwhile, Pochettino to Madrid appears to be gathering steam as The Sun have claimed that Real Madrid will make an offer to double his current wage to a whopping £17million-a-year.
This will undoubtedly make Pochettino one of the highest paid managers in the world. The deal in question is reportedly £85 million in valuation for a five-year deal.
We wait to see how things pan out. Meanwhile, the Los Blancos must fire from all cylinders tonight. Only a big win can ease the minds of Madridistas.
