Keylor Navas could be on his way to PSG

In somewhat surprising news, the Sports Mole is contradicting other sources that suggest Real Madrid number two goalkeeper Keylor Navas is going to Paris Saint Germain.

Navas had reportedly told the Real Madrid hierarchy that was not prepared to play second fiddle to Thibaut Courtois and that he wanted a move away from the Santiago Bernabeu.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has been insisting that Navas was going nowhere during the current transfer window.

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has insisted that Keylor Navas will not be leaving the Bernabeu in this summer’s transfer window.

Moves now appear to be taking place with PSG closing in despite Zidane claiming that the Costa Rican international has never told him that he wanted to leave.

“I cannot imagine the team without Keylor Navas, I don’t contemplate his exit,” Marca quotes Zidane as saying. ‘He has always been an important player for us.”

“Keylor hasn’t told me he wants to leave… he is happy here and wants to show that he can play here. He is a professional and I will count on him.”

Since joining Madrid from Levante in 2014, the now 32-year-old shot-stopper has made 162 appearances for Madrid and was on the bench for the season opener against Celta Vigo.

Spanish sports publication AS is claiming that Real Madrid is interested in signing former Barcelona and Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina.

Should the move for Reina fail the club’s second choice is Everton number two Maarten Stekelenburg according to Football Insider who claim that Real Madrid has already contacted the Dutch international representatives.

The now, 36-year-old was instrumental in the Netherlands’ reaching the 2010 World Cup final after conceding just six goals during the entire competition.

Now in the twilight of his career, Stekelenburg brings with him a wealth of experience and a solid resume that would presumably be good enough for him to play in some La Liga and Copa del Rey matches.

Real Madrid vs. Real Valladolid

Tonight marks Real Madrid’s first match of the new season on home soil following an impressive 1-3 away win at Celta Vigo last weekend.
After having just managed to avoid the drop last season, Real Valladolid got their new season off to a flying start beating Real Betis 1-2 in Seville.

Team News
This early in the season, you never know what the line-up will be with Zidane.

Zidane may want to stick with the team that beat Celta Vigo except of course for Luca Modric who got sent off and is banned for the game.

Then again, the Frenchman could give a run out to either Jovic or James or maybe both.

Two of the big summer signings Eden Hazard and Rodrygo are not available due to injuries, as is Marco Asensio who will be missing for quite some time.

Now, after apparently having come in from the cold, Welsh winger Gareth Bale put in a fine performance in Galicia that could see him start the match alongside Karim Benzema up front.

Real Valladolid should be an easy victory for Los Blancos, and while I don’t see a rout on the cards, I predict a comfortable win.
