Real Madrid seriously considering €60m-rated playmaker
- Updated: August 1, 2019

Spanish giants Real Madrid have stepped up their interest in a young Dutch playmaker proving that their summer spending spree is not over.
According to Netherlands newspaper De Telegraaf, Real Madrid are becoming seriously interested in Ajax’s Donny van de Beek and are ramping up their efforts to sign the creative playmaker.
The Telegraaf’s story was backed up by Mike Verweij on the most recent episode of the Kick-off Podcast.
Spanish sports periodical Marca also weighed in with their take on the 60€ million rated 22-year-old saying he was one of the standout players last season.
Thanks to van de Beek and players like Matthijs de Ligt Ajax won the Dutch Eredivisie and progressed to the semi-final of the Champions League before being knocked out by finalists Tottenham.
After his performances, especially in the Champions League Van de Beek, looked primed to leave Holland and start playing on a bigger stage.
The potential was there for everyone to see after the midfielder provided 13 assists while also finding the back of the net 17 times for Ajax last season.
Described as being tireless and extremely well rounded, Van de Beek would certainly bring not only young legs, but some unbridled passion back to Los Blancos midfield and his eye for goal would certainly be a big plus point.
Other Real Madrid news breaking overnight is manager Zinedine Zidane’s reaction when he found out that Gareth Bale was out playing golf while Los Blancos were losing to Tottenham in the Audi Cup.
Spanish newspaper El Confidencial published pictures of Bale on Wednesday that appeared to show the Welshman playing golf at the Ciudad Grupo Santander course in Madrid.

The Spanish paper claimed that the photos were taken at 8 pm on Tuesday evening, just as Real’s game with Spurs was coming to a close.
When asked for his opinion when he saw the photo’s Zidane said:
“I don’t know.
“You are telling me something that has surely happened. I’m here with my players, and I’m not going to comment on that.
“I hope he trained there. We are here, thinking about the team.”
When asked if Bale’s attitude bothered him Zidane replied: “Well, we’ll see when we get back.”
“I will not prevent someone from doing something. He has to look after his responsibilities.
“We will see what he has done in Madrid. I will not get into his personal life. But I think he has done training.
“I will not tell you if it (Bale’s professionalism) is disrespectful.
“You are not going to put me in a position that I don’t want to be in. I will not answer anything more than that.”
As a Real Madrid fan, I find it incredible that Bale was out playing golf rather than watching the match on Television.
The sooner Real Madrid can offload Bale the better it will be for the entire team.
