Real Madrid and Manchester City are set to meet once again in the semi-finals of the Champions League, in what is sure to be an exciting encounter between two of Europe’s top football clubs. The two sides have a storied history in the competition, having faced each other on eight previous occasions, with Real Madrid winning three, drawing two, and losing three.
Real Madrid advanced to the semi-finals after a resounding 4-0 aggregate victory over Chelsea in the quarter-finals. Meanwhile, Manchester City secured their place in the last four by defeating Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain in the previous rounds.
Manchester City will be looking to reach their first-ever Champions League final, having fallen short in the competition in recent years. Pep Guardiola’s side have been in fine form this season, and will be buoyed by their recent 3-0 victory over Real Madrid in the first leg of their round of 16 tie in the 2019/20 season, which they eventually won 4-2 on aggregate.
Real Madrid, on the other hand, are no strangers to the Champions League, having won the competition a record 13 times. They will be hoping to add to their illustrious trophy cabinet by lifting the trophy once again this season.
