Reports are rife that Real Madrid defender Marcelo has asked the club if he can be allowed to make a January move to Juventus to be reunited with Cristiano Ronaldo.
Marcelo has been described as a very close confidant of Ronaldo as the duo both speak Portuguese. He now wants to reunite with Ronaldo in Turin.
According to Tuttosport, with citations from Diario AS, the player has already informed the club about his intentions.
Juventus are believed to have put a financial plan in place to sign the veteran left back in January.
It can be recalled that Marcelo pledged total loyalty to the Los Blancos last month on an interview with Real Madrid TV. He said:

“I am very happy in Madrid, people know it’s my home. I have many years of my contract left, I am very happy here.”
Meanwhile, any potential deal that would see Marcelo leave the Santiago Bernabeu is valued at a minimum of €50m.
It remains to be seen of the club will yield to his reported desire to join Juventus with regards to their current struggles.
Real Madrid are not in a good place presently after suffering 4 losses, and 1 draw in their last 5 games. Julen Lopetegui’s future at the club still remains uncertain.
They go again in the UEFA Champions League in mid=week against Czech outfit Viktoria Plzen, looking to bag their first win in as many weeks.
