Zinedine Zidane ‘worried’ by club’s injury list
- Updated: July 26, 2019

Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane continues to imply that Welsh international Gareth Bale will leave the club despite a growing list of injured players.
While talking to reporters, the French trainer admitted that he is “worried and bothered” about the number of players that are not available as the La Liga season fast approaches.

The latest name to go on the list is the clubs new signing from Lyon, left-back Ferland Mendy.
According to Goal, the French international has suffered a muscular lesion that will have him sidelined for four weeks. If this is true, Mendy will miss Real Madrid’s first match of the season against Celta Vigo.
The new signing joins midfielder Brahim Diaz (thigh) and attacking midfielder Marco Asensio on the injured list. Asensio is expected to be out of action for nine months after suffering a torn ACL in a pre-season friendly against Arsenal.
“I don’t think about who is going to replace Marco,” Zidane told Marca.
“We are devastated with Marco’s injury and we are preparing the players who are here, then we will return to Madrid.”
Previously Zidane said that winger Gareth Bale was close to leaving, but made no other remarks on the Welshman’s future.
